TENS therapy and EMS machine for knee pain in the Georgia Mountains
So I figured I'd vacation in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia for a week. Beautiful mountains, deer, humming birds, trout, it couldn't be more perfect, that is until I decided to attempt the impossible and climb some of these "hills" on my Scott Cyclocross Bike. My trek started out simple enough, riding some nice rolling hills while checking out the country side and then some serious decent where I really picked up some speed, over 40 mph on some hills, it actually felt pretty good on this 84 degree summer day.
And then I turned around and while doing so, caught a glimpse of the dark cloud cover moving in quickly. I was now 22 miles from where I started with nothing but hills in front of me and bad weather closing in fast. To make a long story short, I made it back to our cabin alive with my two dogs waiting with wagging tails. Of course I was soaking wet with rain & sweat combined with 22 different insects sticking to me. My legs were wobbling like I just drank a pint of smirnoff and only got worse as hours went bye. Mostly, my knees were killing me!
My friend wanted to go for a bike ride the next day so I needed a quick fix fast, especially for my knees that were really sore and tired. Fortunately, I had the stimtens RC-3 EMS & TENS therapy machine still in my car. This was just what the doctor ordered. This time I put it on the electric muscle stimulator mode for about 20 minutes and finished off with the Russian Stim mode just to rebuild a little. This not only removed the lactic acid so I could recover quickly but also relieved any pain that I was feeling, they refer to this as electronic aspirin. The electric muscle stimulator setting also strengthens the surrounding tissue of the knee for additional support. Anyway, I'm glad I had the StimTens RC-3 device up here with me in the mountains of Georgia, I don't know what I'd do without it.
